Hello everyone,
What lovely weather to end the week - let's hope it extends into the weekend.
I hope you all had a restful half-term and enjoyed spending time with your children. It was really exciting for us to have two members of staff who got married over the holiday and so our congratulations go to Mr Knol and Mrs Bakrania-Ashton as they start their married lives with their partners. They both had fantastic days, as you can see!
You may have heard us talking about RAKAT (Richmond and Kingston Accessible Transport) minibuses, particularly if your child has been involved in an activity they had to travel to, in order to represent Sheen Mount. Well, more recently we have had difficulty in booking a minibus because of their lack of drivers. They are currently appealing for any new drivers who could help out with all their community transport. If there are any budding minibus drivers out there, with time on your hands, please contact RAKAT directly at:
info@rakat.org.uk Phone 0208 942 1745
They have let us know that there is a minibus MiDAS training day on Saturday 27th November. Who knows you might even be transporting Sheen Mount pupils to an event!
Accent Catering
Those of you who drop your children at FfS in the morning have already met our lovely chef Gintare. Accent, our catering company, have sent us a little profile on Gintare and have also replied to your queries and suggestions regarding the food. I attach these two documents here:

PSA Corner
A big welcome back to everyone from the PSA Board! We hope you had a lovely half-term break. We are busy readying the slate of events for the remainder of the year!! A few notices regarding these events, in chronological order…
Autumn Ball (19 Nov): the Ball is two weeks away! Table heads please confirm menu choices by this Sunday to Claire Leonard.
Christmas Fair (4 Dec): planning is well under way for this year’s fair. Thank you to the huge numbers of you involved in the preparation!! One of the key attractions will again be the grotto, this year themed “Santa’s Wonderland.” Tickets are £5 per child and can be purchased 15-19 Nov after morning drop-off near the school office. Santa’s Grotto will be open from 11am-3pm and groups of children will have 10 minute slot times with Father Christmas. Slot times can be chosen at the time of ticket purchase. Get your tickets before they sell out!
Christmas Tree sale (5 Dec pick-up): more information to come in the next week, but the PSA intends to help meet the school’s request for classroom filters (see below) with proceeds from this year’s tree sale.
A Magical Christmas (11/12 Dec): Kiddiewinks presents A Magical Christmas, an enchanting family show following Santa and his two elves. Huge thanks to Kathryn and Mads Hauge for the fantastic idea of holding a Christmas spectacular at Sheen Mount and for contributing a portion of the ticket sales to the PSA. It promises to be a lovely seasonal event for the entire family. Some shows have sold out, so get your tickets soon!! More detail and tickets at: http://buytickets.at/kiddiewinks
Classroom Filters: as alluded to above, the school has asked the PSA to fund the purchase of classroom filters to ensure our children have as safe an environment as possible in which to learn. Considering the continued presence of COVID (and other viruses and pollutants), I’m sure we can all agree this is a worthy area for the PSA to fund. Much appreciation to Dishan Manoharan for his research into the filters.
As always, if you have any general PSA-related questions or want to get involved, please contact us via email (smpsachair@gmail.com) or through the class reps.
So have a lovely weekend everyone and I'll see you all next week.
