We have thoroughly enjoyed having the children back in school and we have been impressed with how well they have settled. We launched back into our learning with our DT puppet project, which has focused on learning and applying sewing skills. Using our core text, Macbeth, as a stimulus the children have researched, designed and made their own puppet. They have learnt three different stitches and used these to create very lifelike characters, that we will use to bring our play scripts to life! Continuing on with our materials topic in science, the children investigated the absorbency of a range of paper towels in order to establish the most cost effective option. The children loved the opportunity to make use of our new swimming facilities and our lessons will continue into the summer term. In maths, the children have been reviewing their learning regarding fractions and will continue with this topic until the end of term.
Finally, we have also had the joyous return of singing, as we prepare for our outdoor spring singing performance at the end of this term on Tuesday 30th March.
