  • Colour Theory

    As a part of our art topic looking at the works of Mark Rothko, this week the children developed their understanding of colour theory. They used primary colours to create secondary colours and then mixed these to create a range of tertiary colours. They also examined the effect of adding black or white to a colour to create tints and shades. The children will build on this skill next week when we examine the psychology of colour and answer the question: what effect does colour have on us?

  • Lindy Hop!

    As a part of our WWII day, the children in Year 6 spent the afternoon playing games and dancing the Lindy Hop to help them understand how people kept their spirts up during the war. We were really impressed with the children's dedication and enthusiasm, as well as their ability to laugh at their mistakes!
