Assessments and Europe
This week has had a different focus from usual as the Year 6 children have been working hard on the year end assessments. They were not able to sit their SATs in May but this week has provided them with the opportunity to show their teachers how much they have learnt during their time at Sheen Mount; it’s also great practice for the assessments and exams the children will face at secondary school and it gives the children time to check on their understanding before they move on. The teachers have been really impressed with the mature and focused attitude shown by each and every Year 6 child throughout the week. In addition to our end of year assessments, we are creating prints inspired by spiritualism and Islamic art, thinking about the effects and risks of the choices we make in our lives and we have also been learning some geographical and historical facts about the nations who are competing in the Euro 2020 football tournament and recording it in our learning journals.
