Abstract Expressionism

In art this week, the Year 6 pupils have evaluated their designs for a Mark Rothko-inspired painting and have begun to transfer their favourite colour scheme onto canvas, using acrylic paint.

They have also been developing their understanding of the geographical factors, both human and physical, which influenced the growth of cities in the United Kingdom during the industrial revolution.  In our indoor PE lessons, we have put the final touches to our routines which incorporated three rolls plus three counter-balancing and counter tension balances.  In English, we have also nearly completed our independent writing on a factsheet based on a new species of bird or mammal.  As part of our learning in RE, we have been thinking about the main Christian messages relating to Christmas and how they relate to our Sheen Mount living values such as love, peace, unity and happiness.
