Year 6 have finished their writing on Shane – the main character in our class text “Way Home”. It has provided us with an opportunity to show that we can use informal language in a controlled manner and write about a character, whose life is very different to our own, in an engaging and empathetic manner. In maths we have been getting to grips with compasses and protractors as we constructed our own pie charts. We have also shown some impressive maturity in our PSHE lessons when we have been discussing issues around the consumption of tobacco and our science lessons have turned us into experts at making and drawing electrical circuits. In amongst all this classroom learning, we have also been developing our winning mentality on the sports pitch with Mr Lancaster as we try our best to win whilst recognising the importance of respecting our teammates and opponents.
