The Battle of Bosworth

Year 4 have begun to learn about the Tudor dynasty. Read on to find out more...

There was bloodshed on the school field today as we re-enacted the Battle of Bosworth. The children took turns to pretend to be from Lancaster or York in a battle which culminated with Richard III's death and Henry Tudor being crowned King of England. The children later made their own Tudor roses to show the union between the two houses after Henry VII married Elizabeth of York. The Tudor rose is red and white to represent the red rose of Lancaster and the white rose of York. Next week we will focus on Henry VII's son the infamous Henry VIII: hero or villain?
