Year 2 have been absolute superstars this week whilst all their class teachers have been unwell! They have worked hard at school, and at home, and have continued with their brilliant learning. This week Year 2 have linked Science and English to resea

The children have had a super start to the Spring Term. They were eager to tell us all about their Christmas Holidays and wrote superb recounts. In English, the children have explored some interesting poems and thoroughly enjoyed performing them.  They then wrote their own shape poems and enjoyed reading Benjamin Zephaniah's poem 'People need People'. They wrote some brilliant poems about how people need people in their lives, using  Benjamin Zephaniah's poem as their inspiration.

In maths, the children have been partitioning numbers into different combination of tens and ones. This term's science topic is 'Animals' and the children enjoyed finding out about the different animal groups and sorting animals into the correct categories.

In geography, the children used atlases and maps to locate continents  and to explore the UK in greater detail. Well done to all the children for making such a positive start back to school. We look forward to all the fun and exciting things ahead!
