Performing poetry!

Year 2 has had a lovely start back to the Spring term. In English we have begun to explore a variety of poems. We performed these in groups, thinking about speaking clearly with expression and also including some actions. We have also been learning about the four 'secret strings' of poetry: alliteration, similes, onomatopoeia and personification. We came up with some examples of our own to include in a poem all about the seasons.

In maths we have been learning about money. We have been recognising coins then making amounts in different ways. We have also started to explore change.

In science we begun our new topic of animals and discussed the different animal groups as well as sorting them into our own categories.

In geography, we enjoyed discussing where our families were from and linked this to different languages we speak. We also discussed rural and urban features of London.
