Space setting descriptions!

Year 2 have had a lovely start back to school this week.

In English we have been exploring what it would be like to go into space! We read ‘How to Catch a Star’ by Oliver Jeffers and then drew our own space setting. We then used expanded noun phrases to describe what we could see and hear in space.

In maths we have been continuing with addition and subtraction. We have been adding and taking away ten from a number noticing that the ones stay the same. We have also begun adding and subtracting by drawing our diennes to help show our working.

In history we have been discussing the consequences of the Great Fire of London. We thought about what changes we would make to London such as houses made of bricks and more spread out. Before half term we also enjoyed creating our own pictures of the Great Fire of London using prints we had designed and made ourselves.
