Another very busy week in Year 1! This week, in science, we have been exploring one of our 5 senses- ‘taste’ by tasting a variety of different foods. Some ‘tastes’ were rather surprising as you can see in the picture above! After reading, watching and acting out the story of The Snail and the Whale, this week’s English focus is retelling the story by sequencing and writing full sentences (please ask your children about Kung Fu punctuation!). In Geography, we practised locating and naming the five Oceans- there is a song that goes with this that you may have heard your children singing along to! Finally, in maths, we have been continuing our unit on place value with a focus on counting one more, one less, counting backwards and matching groups. We are also working on explaining our thinking using full sentences. Have a wonderful weekend! The Year 1 team.
