Investigating inheritance

In Year 6 this week, we have been investigating genetic inheritance by 'breeding' and building imaginary animals, known as 'reebops'.

We discovered that offspring inherit a random combination of characteristics from both parents, resulting in siblings that are similar, but not identical, to one another. We call these differences between members of the same species 'variations'. As an added bonus, reebops are made of marshmallows so we enjoyed a tasty treat at the end of the lesson!
