Lots of learning

The Year 6 children have come back from half term feeling fresh, enthusiastic and ready for lots more new learning!

Our new class text in English is ‘Holes’ by Louis Sachar and we have been enjoying researching facts about reptiles ready to write a fact file about the deadly yellow spotted lizard. We have also participated in a live webinar with legendary poet Michael Rosen. In geography, we are focusing on the UK. We have identified important geographical features and landmarks and have now moved on to researching primary, secondary and tertiary sectors and how they affect our country’s economy. Our science learning is about evolution and inheritance and this week we have acted as palaeontologists to reconstruct a prehistoric animal skeleton from fossil evidence. In PE, we have begun creating a dance routine inspired by 'Stomp' that incorporates both sound and movement.
