Year 1 have had a fantastic few weeks. We had a brilliant time at Hobbledown farm and have done lots of great work this week. 

This week in maths, we have been learning about fractions. We started learning halves last week, and this week have learnt about quarters. We have explored how to find half/quarter of a shape and of a quantity.

In English, we have continued learning about Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. We learnt about the suffix -ing, and then wrote some sentences about Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs using the suffix -ing.

In science, we have loved learning about plants. This week, we investigated seeds and bulbs. We used magnifying glasses to look closely at a variety of different seeds, and even got to look at some daffodil bulbs.

In art, we have combined our sculpture knowledge to make a collaborative 3d newspaper sculpture. We have all been working together to make a class spider sculpture, and have now begun painting it!
