Hot air balloons!

We have had a brilliant few weeks in Year 1! Moles and Hedgehogs enjoyed performing in their class assemblies and Otters are looking forward to theirs!
In English, we have continued learning about 'Where the wild things are'. This week, we have used our imaginations to plan our own islands that Max could travel to, and then used super adjectives to describe our own islands.
In Maths, we have continued learning about place value to 20. We have been learning about the number line to 20, and then we practiced estimating on the number line!
In History, we have been enjoying our new topic 'A history of flight'. We loved learning about the invention of the hot air balloon, and had a lot of fun making and flying our own hot air balloons! We also learnt about the first flight of a plane, and compared a modern plane to the first plane.
In PSHE, we have started a new topic on relationships. We have been learning all about friendships and what characteristics a good friend has. This week, we have going to learn all about different emotions.
We hope you have a lovely weekend!
