Shape portraits, potion making, and rockets!

What a great first term it has been in year 1! Otters and Hedgehogs enjoyed their forest school sessions this week and Moles are looking forward to their last session on Monday.

This week in art, we have been looking at the work of Paul Klee, and had a go making our own shape portrait in the style of his work.

In carousel, we have had lots of fun reading 'Room on the Broom', and have made our own Christmas potions. In history we have been learning about the explorer Neil Armstrong, and have made our own paper rockets.

In maths, we have been learning all about shape. We have explored a range of 2D and 3D shapes and practised sorting them into different groups.

In science, we have continued learning about materials. This week, we explored how an object can be made from different materials depending on its purpose!

We are looking forward to our Christmas singing on Friday!

We hope you have a great Christmas break.

The Year 1 team.
