Imaginary friends and how many tens?

We have had a very busy and exciting couple of weeks in Year 2!

In English, we finished our text The Day the Crayons Quit by writing a letter from Duncan to Blue Crayon. We have now started our new text, Imaginary Fred, where we will continue to develop our use of a variety of conjunctions and write sentences using verbs to describe our very own imaginary friends. We are looking forward to seeing where our imaginations take us!

In Maths, we have continued our topic on Place Value, exploring number lines, comparing numbers and ordering numbers. We have also been practising our 2, 3, 5 and 10 times tables. Please continue to practise these at home to help build confidence and fluency.

In Science, we have been building on our knowledge of materials by investigating and describing their different properties.

In History, we have been learning more about the Great Fire of London. We have been exploring and using different historical sources to help us find out what happened and understand more about this important event.

Finally, in Art, we have been developing our knowledge of colour mixing by experimenting with primary colours to create secondary colours.

It has been a fantastic couple of weeks of learning, and we are very proud of all the hard work and enthusiasm the children have shown!
