An Otter-ly amazing end to a wonderful year!

As we reach the end of another fantastic school year, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support. It has been a wonderful year full of learning, laughter and memorable experiences, and we are incredibly proud of everything the children have achieved.
Wetlands Trip
Our highlight of the week was undoubtedly our trip to the wetlands! Although it was a very hot day, everyone had a fantastic time exploring the habitats, spotting wildlife and learning about the importance of wetlands. The children's enthusiasm, curiosity and excellent behaviour made us incredibly proud.
A huge thank you to all of our parent volunteers who gave up their time to join us. We simply couldn't have enjoyed such a successful trip without your support, and we are so grateful for your help.
It was lovely to see the children return to school full of excitement, eager to share everything they had learned with their friends and teachers. They settled brilliantly for the rest of the week and continued to demonstrate excellent behaviour and a real love of learning.
English
Our budding reporters have been investigating the mysterious museum thieves from Flat Stanley! We have been exploring the clues and will be creating exciting newspaper reports to inform everyone about what was stolen and how the mystery unfolded.
Maths
In maths, we have been learning about position and direction. The children have enjoyed directing one another using left and right turns, forwards and backwards, developing both their mathematical vocabulary and teamwork skills.
Art
We have been creating fantastic printing blocks using polystyrene. The children carefully transferred their map designs before producing beautiful printed artwork. The finished pieces look absolutely fantastic, and everyone has been incredibly proud of their creations.
Science
Our learning about plants has continued as we explored how to present scientific results. The children used their maths knowledge to create and interpret bar charts, helping them to analyse and explain their findings like real scientists.
Sports Day
What a wonderful Sports Day we had! The children showed fantastic determination, resilience and team spirit throughout every event. We were especially proud of the way they encouraged one another, celebrated everyone's successes and displayed such excellent behaviour throughout the day.
Moving Up Morning
The children thoroughly enjoyed meeting their new teachers during Moving Up Morning. They approached the experience with confidence, curiosity and excitement, and represented Year 2 brilliantly. We know they are ready for the next stage of their learning journey and will continue to shine in their new classes.
A Final Thank You
Thank you once again for all of your support throughout the year. It has been a privilege to teach such a wonderful group of children. They have grown in confidence, kindness and independence, and we couldn't be prouder of all they have achieved.
We hope you all have a safe, restful and enjoyable summer holiday. We wish every child the very best as they move into their new classes and look forward to hearing about all of their future successes.
Have a wonderful summer!
Year 2 Team
