Sharing into equal groups!

This week in English we have been exploring the story The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch by Ronda and David Armitage. The children enjoyed learning about the characters and the events in the story. We have also been learning about compound words and how two words can join together to make a new word. In addition, the children have been practising their instruction writing by writing clear steps for how to make a sandwich.

In Maths we have been solving worded problems involving multiplication and division. The children have been working hard to read the questions carefully and decide which operation they need to use to find the correct answer.

In Science our caterpillars are growing, and the class has been very excited to observe the changes each day. We are watching them closely and the children are keeping a science diary to record what they see as the caterpillars grow and develop.

In Art we have been learning about texture and tone. The children have been experimenting with different techniques to create texture and practising how to use light and dark shading in their artwork.

In RE we have been learning about prophets, including the story of Jonah and the Whale and learning about Prophet Muhammad. The children have been thinking about the messages these important figures shared.

We are also working very hard practising our songs for the Spring Assembly, and the children are doing a fantastic job learning the words and actions.

Thank you for your continued support, have a lovely weekend!
