Imaginary Fred and number lines!

This week Year 2 have started reading Imaginary Fred as their new book in English. We read the introduction about Fred and wrote about our own imaginary friend, using verbs in our sentences.

In Maths, we consolidated our learning of place value and explored numbers on number lines up to 100. We estimated where numbers would fall on the number line and used our reasoning skills to explain our thinking.

In History, we have continued with our topic of The Great Fire of London. We read an extract from Samuel Pepys' diary and found out new facts. Did you know that on Sunday 2nd September, there were already 300 houses that had been burnt down?

In PSHE, we had a wonderful afternoon of mindfulness where we focused on different breathing techniques and the importance of taking time to relax.

In Art, we are practising our colour mixing skills and learning how to add texture to our paintings.

We are all settled into the Year 2 routines and producing some amazing work! Have a lovely weekend. The Year 2 team.
