A storybook ending...

The last few weeks have perfectly summed up Year 5 — busy, exciting and full of memorable moments! The children have continued to work hard right up to the end of term, behaving brilliantly and adapting sensibly when needed, as the year draws to a close. We have thoroughly enjoyed teaching them and are proud of each and every one of them. We know they will be fantastic role models to the rest of the school in Year 6.

This week in maths, measuring capacity and volume has become a hands-on investigation. Geography has taken us across Italy to explore how its regions, climate and landscape shape different industries. Inspired by Journey to Jo’burg, the children are stepping into the role of authors as they craft their own journey narratives, while DT has been full of testing, tweaking and problem-solving as they refine their mechanical systems for the Squashed Tomato Challenge.
