The world of business has been at the centre of our learning in Year 6 this week.  The children set up their own businesses to sell friendship bracelets to the pupils in Year 3 and along the way they found out about and engaged in all aspects of the entrepreneurial cycle as they designed, manufactured, marketed and sold their bracelets.  They learnt about the importance of maximising revenue and minimising costs to increase profits and the children also had to make some important decisions along the way – should they fund their on-going business by selling more shares in their companies to a venture capitalist or apply to the bank for a loan?  It was really important for the children to identify the most effective way for their team to function together and to recognise that all individuals can make important contributions to the overall success of the team whether you are the CEO, Head of Design or Finance Director.
