Colour Theory

As a part of our art topic looking at the works of Mark Rothko, this week the children developed their understanding of colour theory. They used primary colours to create secondary colours and then mixed these to create a range of tertiary colours. They also examined the effect of adding black or white to a colour to create tints and shades. The children will build on this skill next week when we examine the psychology of colour and answer the question: what effect does colour have on us?

We will continue to update the 'Art' folder with photos as we progress through this unit of work.
