Investigating Invertebrates

Continuing our work from Juniper Hall looking at the habitats of invertebrates, Year 4 have been combining science and art to study these creatures in more detail.

In our science lesson this week we categorised animals into vertebrates and invertebrates. We then looked at scientific drawings of animals before attempting to produce our own. During our art lesson, we worked in teams of 4 to create a detailed painting of an invertebrate. This activity involved using our communication and team work skills in addition to our maths and artistic skills. Here, you can see children carefully observing the finer details of bees, butterflies, ladybirds, dragonflies and snails.
