Most music lessons at Sheen Mount are provided by the Richmond Music Trust. At the present time we have children learning flute, clarinet, saxophone, recorder, trumpet, violin, guitar, percussion and singing. Timetables are displayed in class and on the Music Board next to the Library. Any questions regarding the classes should be raised with the Trust directly.
Recorder is taught from Year 2 to Year 6. Most children wait until they reach Key Stage 2 before learning an orchestral instrument. If your child wishes to learn flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, violin, guitar, percussion or singing, please apply directly to www.richmondmusictrust.org.uk.
Children in Year 1 can take part in Music Makers which is held on a Thursday lunchtime. Applications for this club should be made directly to the Richmond Music Trust. The club is in high demand and there are only a limited number of places so if you are interested please ensure you register early.
Children who are learning an instrument in school time are encouraged to play in the school orchestra which rehearses in the Music Room on Tuesday morning 8.15am-8.55am. They need to have been playing their instrument for at least a term before joining.
Please contact Mrs Boa via the School Office if you would like more information about joining the orchestra.
