Dear parents and carers,
I hope you are well. We look set for a hot period at school and so there is a reminder below of the sun safety email sent out earlier in the week. The staff are doing the best they can to keep the classrooms cool - particularly in the Y3/4 building. I walked around before KS2 lunch today and there was one class outside having PE and three classes in the shade, doing various activities.
We welcome our new reception children for September with their stay and play this afternoon and then on Tuesday after school.
Class photos will be coming out imminently from the provider.

Y3 safe walking
Here is some advice from Poppy and Phoebe who, along with the rest of Year 3, have been trained on road safety:
Remember to Stop, Think, Look and Listen.
Remember to do a second stop if there is a car in front of you.
Always look both ways on a road crossing.
Never cross diagonally.
Never run when you are crossing.
Always look behind you when crossing a driveway.
Year 5 Isle of Wight
We have now finished our school residential trips for the year. The current Y5 will be the last year group to go to PGL in Y6 next year, before we change to:
Y4 Juniper Hall (Dorking) - 2 nights
Y5 PGL Marchants Hill (Hindhead) - 2 nights
Y6 IOW - 4 nights
5D collectively-All of the activities were really exciting especially the aqua park, even though it was raining! Robbin Hill was SO much fun. The sandcastle competition was really enjoyable and we all thought the beach was amazing.
By Lois and Poppy 5B-The Isle of Wight was an amazing experience for us and we felt so lucky to go there on a school trip. All the activities were so enjoyable, but our favourite activities were Tapnell Aqua Park and Robin Hill Adventure Park. We all liked our rooms and day groups and we thank all the teachers so much for taking us, organising everything and making it so fun. We also loved the food at the hotel.
Esther, 5W-The Isle of Wight was a unique experience as you have a week of excitement with your friends and get to do lots of great activities. My favourite activity was the Aqua Park because it was really fun going around with all of your friends and jumping into the water!

Check you and your family are fully vaccinated before travelling this summer
The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) is reporting a recent rise in measles cases in London. Globally, cases have also increased, including in Europe. This means that travelling for holidays or to visit family this summer, may increase your risk of catching measles and becoming ill during or after travel if you are not fully vaccinated.
Anyone travelling for summer holidays or to visit family, especially parents of young children, are advised to check that all members of their family have received 2 doses of the Mumps, Measles and Rubella (MMR) vaccine. Other travel-related vaccines may be needed depending on your destination.
