KS2 Sports Day
All the children in Years 3 to 6 had their opportunity for sporting excellence today at our KS2 Sports Day. The children performed brilliantly despite the heat and completed sprint, long distance and throwing events.
After the calculations from the results of the EYFS, KS1 and KS2 Sports Days, the BlueTeam were victorious. Well done to everyone who took part and thank you to Mr Lancaster for preparing the children and organising such a fun sports event for the children. I’ll be able to share the full results with the children in assembly next week.
Library Summer Reading
Richmond and Kingston Borough are running a fantastic summer reading challenge based on the theme of ‘Wild World Heroes’. This is a brilliant way of using your local library and keeping up with reading over the break. Children need to be a member of their local library and can sign up online or visit the library in person. Children have to read 6 books and they will receive a reward/sticker for each one they read. If they complete the challenge, they will receive a medal and certificate. We hope that you support his wonderful scheme and have lots of fun!

Finish time for next Friday
To confirm the finish times for pupils on the last day of term, next Friday 23rd July. Due to our staggered finish, all pupils apart from Year 6 will be finishing at their regular collection times. As Year 6 will be having their leavers festival in the afternoon, they will be leaving school at 14:00 to give them time to get prepared for the fun evening ahead. Some parents have asked about the possibility of presenting gifts to teachers at the end of term. To enable this, we will open the gates slightly earlier for each collection time to allow class reps to do this in front of the children on the Orchard before they are collected.
Marianne Paemen
After six years of fun at the helm of the school budget, health and safety, toilets, recruitment, contracts, flood control, IT, GDPR, traffic enforcement, staff well-being, cleaning and administration line management - to name but a few things on (and not on) her job description, Marianne Paemen has decided that it is time to hang up her clipboard and explore new options in her life. The effective team that she has built up will be managing this role in the Autumn Term and Mrs O’Brien and Mr Holmes will be recruiting a new School Business Manager for the start of the Spring Term. She has made an enormous contribution to the success of our school and should be hugely proud of her achievements and the robust legacy of financial security and administrative process that she leaves behind!
Robbie Wright
Congratulations to Robbie, our School Chef, who has secured himself a new role as the chef of another local school. He has been a valued member of Accent Catering’s team here at Sheen Mount for the last 9 years and has served up thousands of tasty meals and puddings in his time with us. Accent Catering will be sorting out the new chef to start in September and I am sure that Robbie will be sharing his recipe book so that the delicious food can continue!
