Governor type Co-opted governor
Responsibilities

Chair of Governors

Appointment date and term 09/01/2021, 4 years (second term)
Why did you want to be a governor?

Being a governor combines my two great passions - children and community.   It enables me to use my business skills to support Sheen Mount in enabling every child to achieve their full potential; and to be part of a community where the sum of the parts creates so much more than could otherwise be achieved.

Which Committee do you sit on?

Together with our headteacher, I attend the three committees of Pastoral, Standards and Resources as and when helpful or needed.

What do you do when you are not being a governor?

In addition to being a wife and mum of two, I run my own business helping leaders and their organisations to surpass their goals through their people. At the weekend, I can usually be found outdoors with my family doing some kind of sport.

During your time on the governing body, which achievement has made you most proud?

I am incredibly proud of the surveys that the school and governors have run.  They provide a rich insight into the views of children, staff and parents and helped us identify areas of a focus where we can make a difference to the education and experience the school provides.   I am also proud of the recruitment of our new headteacher and the opportunity they bring for the future of the school.

Sum up Sheen Mount in 3 words Inspiring, nurturing and (above all) fun!
