We have had a fantastic start to the Spring Term! The children have enjoyed learning about the Brazilian rainforest in their geography lessons. On our recent school trip, they delighted the staff at Kew Gardens with their scientific, and geographical, knowledge and understanding of rainforest plants and animals. They created impressive rainforest scenes for homework which engaged their creative sides and thoroughly enjoyed showcasing the fruits of their labour in the classrooms and for parents at our curriculum evening.
In English, the children have been developing detailed setting and character descriptions, concocting revolting rhymes and devising persuasive advertisements.
In maths, we have been multiplying and dividing by 3, 4 and 8 and investigating money in terms of converting into pounds and pence, adding and subtracting money and giving change.
In science we have been learning about the importance of maintaining a balanced diet, human and animal skeletons.
