Plant hunting, music making and word searching!

Year 3 have been busy with their learning this week. It has been wonderful to get outside in the sunshine for Safe Walking Week and all the children earned their badges - well done! In science this half-term we are learning about famous scientists and inventors. So far we have learnt about The Plant Hunters (Tom Hart Dyke, Jeanne Baret and Sir Joseph Banks) as well as Marie Curie. The children really enjoyed being plant hunters and seeing which plants they could spot around the school grounds! In music, we have been learning about the pentatonic scale and have used glockenspiels and xylophones to practise playing these 5 notes. In English this week we have been using dictionaries and thesauruses to practise finding definitions and synonyms. What a busy bunch you have been!
