Macbeth, Vikings and collages

It has been a very busy couple of weeks in Year 5! We have started reading our core text 'Macbeth' in English and have used a range of literary devices such as similes, metaphors and prepositions to describe the battlefield and the weird sisters, who the boys are dramatising in the photo above. In History, we have been learning about the Vikings by using evidence from the attack on Lindisfarne and writing an account of the event from a Viking perspective. Additionally, we have been learning about the art of Andy Goldsworthy. A collagist who creates ephemeral (lasts for a short time) art using nature. We then created our own Goldsworthy inspired artworks outside using natural resources the children could find.
