Medical
Illness, first-aid and medication at school
The School follows the guidance from the Department for Education on Supporting Children with Medical Conditions at School.
We cannot administer medication in school that has not been prescribed. To request the short-term administration of prescribed medication, please fill in the relevant Short Term Medication Request Form.
If your child has been diagnosed with a longer-term medical condition, please inform the school office asap. You will be asked for a copy of the doctor's certificate.
We follow NHS guidance on returning to school following any vomiting or diarrhoea. The NHS 48-Hour rule states that children must stay home until at least 48 hours have passed since the last episode of vomiting or diarrhoea. This strict exclusion period is essential to prevent the spread of infections like norovirus, as children can remain contagious even after symptoms subside.
