Year 1 have had a great start to the academic year! They are adapting well to new rules and routines.

We have begun carousel activities in the mornings and enjoyed making skeleton pictures, labelling body parts as well as practising our handwriting letters.

In English we have read the Snail and the Whale and this week wrote sentences about three pictures from the book.

In maths we have been sorting objects by colour (picture above) shape and size. We then ordered numbers to 10 using numicon. We have also been counting objects and representing them using counters on a tens frame. 

In art we have been learning about the primary colours and how to make secondary colours. 

In geography we have begun learning about the seven continents and enjoyed finding these on Google Earth!
