Lost and Found

The weeks are flying by at record speed in Year 5, and the children have certainly been keeping themselves busy! We were incredibly proud of their performances in the inaugural Sheen Mount production of Macbeth — complete with dramatic puppets, stirring songs, energetic djembe drumming and dancing worthy of the Scottish court itself. The children truly grew into their roles and impressed us all with their effort, confidence and excellent behaviour throughout rehearsals and performances. Elsewhere, they have wrapped up their unit on shape in maths, explored the pros and cons of asexual reproduction in science, and continued immersing themselves in The Lost Words by conjuring kennings and incantations inspired by the natural world. In art, pupils have been channelling their inner architects through observational drawings, monoprints and ambitious designs for schools of the future — some of which may even feature rooftop football pitches and chocolate fountains!
