Pretty prisms

Year 6 have been learning about Isaac Newton’s light and colour theory.
They used prisms and white paper to observe the rainbows colours that appear in the sunshine. They discussed how this effect is created in small groups.
In maths and English lessons we are continuing our usual learning as well as revising topics previously learned, like recalling our fractions knowledge.
In art, we have been designing sculptures of food, formed shapes with clay and painted them.
In celebration of Earth Day this week, we have watched David Attenborough’s film Ocean and debated whether stricter laws should be introduced to protect the ocean. We have shared our personal pledges to protect the ocean in assembly.
