Performing poems!

We have had a lovely few weeks in Year 1 and enjoyed the brief sunshine too!

In maths, we have begun learning our numbers up to 50! We have practised counting forwards and backwards, and this week have been learning about the number line to 50 and estimating on the number line.

In English, we have been enjoying our new topic of poetry. This week, we have looked at counting poems. We read and performed some, and are now writing our own number poems using alliteration and even some rhyme!

In RE, we have been thinking about who can care for the world and how we can care for the world. We shared our ideas, and then drew an example of a way to look after the world.

In geography we have continued to compare rural and urban places looking at human and physical features.

We have also been enjoying Science week this week. We explored a variety of pictures and came up with as many scientific questions as we could!

Have a lovely weekend!

The Year 1 team.
