Reading for Pleasure

All of the Year 6 children are working really hard with Mrs Adams and Mrs O'Brien to practise their singing for our carol concert on Wednesday 17th December. We can’t wait!
The children have been developing their writing skills in English where they are using formal language to draft a fact sheet about an animal of their choice, inspired by our shared writing on the yellow spotted lizard. Our English Ambassadors have enjoyed introducing the new reading sheds to the school. We can now enjoy reading a book during our playtime. In science, they are really enjoying learning about evolution and the natural selection process. Our geography lessons have helped us to understand where our food comes from. This will help us to prepare for our debate about mega-farming. Once again, the Year 6 children really impressed Mr Holmes and Mrs O’Brien in their role as tour guides when potential new parents came to have a look around our school – our children showed themselves to be confident, articulate and well informed!
