Glad to be back!

The Year 6 children have made a fantastic start to their final year at Sheen Mount and all of their teachers have been really impressed with their focus, energy and enthusiasm.
In history, they have been busy learning about the causes of World War Two. They are enjoying reading about the experience of evacuees through our core text - ‘Letters from the Lighthouse’ - in our English lessons. Coming up is our visit to the air raid shelter at St Leonard’s Court. In preparation, we will be learning about the causes of World War II and the effects of the Blitz on everyday life in Britain. In science, we are learning about how we can classify organisms into the five kingdoms of life. We have all really enjoyed our first PE lessons with Mr Brown. This week we visited the library to choose a new book and look for books on WW2. Thank you to our parent volunteers who have made it such a nice place to sit and read. The Year 6 teachers are really looking forward to the children building on what they have achieved so far.
