Year 4 have made an excellent start to the new year and have begun to immerse themselves in the world of Ancient Greece and its myths. The children have been retelling the story of Persephone who was taken to the underworld by Hades. Because she ate 6 pomegranate seeds, she had to remain there for 6 months of every year which made her poor mother Demeter very sad which in turn caused the trees to lose their leaves.
