What a brilliant year it has been in Year 1!

We have had lots of fun this week. In English, we have been finishing our pirate topic by reading the story ‘The night pirates’ and then designing our own ‘night pirate’! We are excited to spend the day as pirates!

In maths, we have started learning all about time. We investigated seconds, minutes and hours using stopwatches, and then we tried completing mini challenges whilst being timed!

In DT, we had so much fun on our DT day using ‘junk’ to create a freestanding sculpture. We planned, designed, made and evaluated our own marble runs, and really enjoyed testing them out.

Finally, in history, we finished learning about the Battle of Hastings by learning about what happened after the battle. We explored how life changed in England, and drew and labelled some examples.
