Welcome To Year 1

Welcome to the Spring term.  All the children have settled back after Christmas and are continuing to demonstrate their growing independence. This term we have many new exciting topics that we will be exploring including ourselves, food, countries around the world, plants and animals and houses and homes. We are also performing our first class assembly and we can't wait!

As part of our learning about the world we have a new role play area. This term it is cafe/resturant and is proving very popular with the children! To develop the children's understanding of a cafe we are reading a funny text called 'Mrs Wobble The Waitress' and then doing lots of fun activities based on the story.

We all really enjoy sharing our news and special items with our class so each week we have four children that have an opportunity to show and share their news. We enjoy listening to each other and asking questions to find out more!

We are also pleased to welcome two new members of staff to the Year 1 team. Miss Dale (Moles) and Miss Stannell (Hedgehogs) who are already becoming part of the class.
