Year 1 have had a brilliant first week back in school. We have been busy in all subjects. We went on a class 'dig' to the orchard playground to find some old, historical objects. The following day, the children wrote a recount of the events and all the objects they had found. The children remembered to start their sentences with sentences openers to sequence the events. In maths, we have had fun learning all about time. We have been busy writing and sequencing the days of the week and months of the year. We have also been learning about o'clock and half past as well as looking at the language 'before' and 'later'. In science, we have been learning about carnivores, herbivores and omnivores and sorting pictures into the correct categories. We love singing in Year 1 and have enjoyed learning our new song 'You can count on me'. We are super proud of how enthusiastic all the children have been this week!
