Parent Governors
Vicky Williams
Vicky lives in East Sheen and is the Chair of the Governing Body. She has been a governor since 2002. Her twin children are both former pupils of Sheen Mount and are now at senior school. Vicky’s background is in HR and is currently the Human Resources Director of a large food services company. She works closely with Elaine England to provide day to day support in relation to the running of the School. Vicky is a member of all committees of the Governing Body.

Polly Fraley
Polly was appointed to the Governing Body in January 2006. She lives in East Sheen and has three sons at the School. Polly is a teacher and is currently responsible for the SEN provision at a local independent school. Her particular interest is in early years’ education and she is the governor responsible for curriculum and special educational needs. Polly is also the Chair of the Resources Committee and is a member of the Health and Safety, Budget Monitoring and Extended Schools Working Parties.

Vaughan Evans
Vaughan was appointed as a governor in January 2007. He lives in East Sheen and has a son who was formerly at the School but is now at senior school. Vaughan’s background is in economics, strategy, planning and finance and he uses these skills in his management consultancy practice. Vaughan is the Chair of the Standards Committee.

James Maurici
James has two children at Sheen Mount and one younger child. He lives in east Sheen and became a governor in November 2007. James is a barrister specialising in public planning, environmental and public law (including education). He has also served on the governing body of his former primary school in Ealing. James is the Chair of the Staffing Committee and is a member of the Health and Safety Working Party.

Eimear Coase

Eimear lives in East Sheen and became a governor in January 2008. She has two children at the School. Eimear has extensive experience in finance and marketing. She spent over 11 years working in a multinational company and more recently was the managing director of a small science based company. Eimear is a member of the Resources Committee and has been very involved in the kitchen and school meals project. She is also a member of the Budget Monitoring Working Party and the small working group dealing with site development.

Niki Dow
Niki has been a governor since September 2008 and has two children at the School. She lives in East Sheen and has a background in finance and banking. Niki has an MBA and for the last 7 years has run her own training and consultancy business. She is particularly interested in facilitating the development of the school site to match current and future needs. In addition Niki is keen to help establish revenue generating opportunities for the School to support its future funding requirements. Niki is a member of the Standards Committee and is the governor responsible for numeracy in the School. She has also been a driving force behind the kitchen project and is involved in a small working group looking at site development.

Andrew Waller
Andrew was appointed as a governor in October 2008. He lives in East Sheen and has two children, one at Sheen Mount and another at a local nursery school. Andrew is the Chief Executive of a substantial business travel management company. He is a member of the Resources Committee and has a particular interest in supporting the work to facilitate the development of the school site.

Staff Governors
Elaine England
Elaine is the head teacher at Sheen Mount and lives in Teddington. She has been on the Governing Body since her appointment in 2000. Elaine brings over 30 years of teaching experience to the Governing Body, with 23 years of that time in the Richmond Borough. She does outreach work for the LEA, is a Consultant Head and carries out NQT monitoring for the Borough. In addition Elaine is a qualified Ofsted Inspector. Elaine is a member of all committees of the Governing Body.

Rebecca Seddon
Rebecca has been a governor since 1994 and is the longest serving member of the Governing Body. She lives in East Sheen and has a daughter at university. Rebecca trained and practised as an architect prior to qualifying as a teacher. She has taught at Sheen Mount for over 15 years, is the Team Leader of Foundation Stage and is also a Teacher Tutor for the University of Surrey (Roehampton). Rebecca is a member of the Staffing Committee of the Governing Body.

Jane DeMetz
Jane is in charge of administration at Sheen Mount and is invaluable to the smooth running of the School. She has worked at Sheen Mount for over 20 years after leaving a career in HR. Jane lives in East Sheen and her two grown-up children are former pupils at the School. She has sat on the Governing Body since 1995 and is a member of the Staffing Committee.

Robert Kennedy 
Robert is a teacher who was appointed to the Governing Body in September 2007. He lives in Mortlake and has two children who attend St Mary Magdalene’s School in Mortlake. Robert is a member of the Standards Committee. Prior to becoming a teacher, Robert spent 15 years working for the National Audit Office helping prepare reports for Parliament about how effectively government departments spend taxpayers’ money.

Community Governors
Mona Adams
Mona lives in East Sheen and has two grown-up daughters who are former pupils of Sheen Mount. Mona is currently a freelance historical consultant. She has contributed to many education and history programmes on television and is currently an historical advisor on films for the cinema. Mona is a member of the Staffing Committee and is the governor responsible for child protection issues, looked after children and literacy. In addition Mona co-ordinated school surveys and is now involved in local press/Sheen Mount liaison. She is also a governor at Shene School where her daughters were educated at secondary level.

Peter Balfour
Peter was appointed governor in March 2007 and lives in East Sheen. He has two children who are former pupils of the School who are now in secondary education. Peter is bilingual, being fluent in French and has his own travel company specializing in villa rental in the South East of France. He is a member of the Resources Committee and is responsible for governor training. In addition Peter has been involved in the new kitchen project from the beginning.

Matthew Weston
Matthew lives in Mortlake and was appointed governor in January 2008. He is an IT specialist who has extensive experience in developing, designing and implementing IT solutions in the educational sector. He has experience in fund-raising and obtaining funding for ICT projects. Matthew is a member of the Standards Committee and is the governor responsible for IT in the School.

LEA Governors
Carmel Bamford
Carmel lives in Richmond and has been a governor since January 2006. She is a solicitor with many years of experience in the commercial and business environment and has three teenage daughters. Her particular interests are governance and assisting compliance by the School with regulatory requirements. She is a member of the Resources Committee and is Vice Chair of the Governing Body. She is the governor responsible for extended school issues and health and safety issues and is a member of the working parties dealing with both matters.

Cathy Mooney
Cathy was appointed as a governor in January 2008. She lives in Hampton and works for Surrey County Council as a project manager. In her work she develops strategies and policies in a range of services, most recently for children with complex needs. Cathy has a degree in biochemistry and has experience of teaching English in the UK and overseas. She is a member of the Staffing Committee.
