Class assemblies and shapes!

The children have been very busy this week with Moles and Otters class performing their class assembly and Hedgehogs are looking forward to their next week.

In English, we read another traditional tale of the Hare and the Tortoise. We thought about how the tortoise would have been feeling throughout the story and wrote a diary entry from the point of view of the tortoise.

In maths, we have enjoyed learning about 3D shapes. We went on a shape hunt outside to see what shapes we could find around the school. We found cylinder drainpipes, cube planters and triangle based pyramid tepees! We also investigated the nets of shapes and had a go at making our own 3D shapes. This helped us in art when we practised our sculpting skills by rolling, squeezing and smoothing the clay into shapes.
